
Shampoos are often full of synthetic chemicals which will cause allergies so we want homemade recipes like this one .
Here we are going to use Aloe vera, as base for homemade shampoo which will gently cleanse the hair and scalp and stimulate hair growth.
You will need:
Natural Aloe vera Shampoo
- 2 cups (475 milliliters) water
- 6 ounces (180 milliliters) liquid soap
- 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) Aloe vera gel
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) jojoba oil
- 40 to 50 drops essential oils (optional)
- 2 ounces (56 grams) dried herbs (optional)
- Yield: About 3 cups (710 milliliters or 24 fluid oz) of shampoo
Preparation
First Assembling the Ingredients:
- obtain organic Aloe vera gel from a health or natural medicine shop
- get the purest Aloe vera gel you’ll find
- or buy burn plant gel that’s certified organic
- harvest Aloe vera gel directly from the plant
- cut off one full leaf from the plant
- slice the leaf open length-wise and pull apart the 2 halves
- scoop out the thick, translucent gel with a spoon
- spoon the fresh gel into a clean bowl nearby
- get 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) of fresh gel
- take a couple of burn plant leaves to supply that quantity
- use dried herbs for extra benefits (optional)
- aloe vera gel may be a great moisturizer and may naturally promote hair growth
- use any combination of the subsequent dried herbs
- as long as you don’t use quite 2 ounces (56 grams) total
- for dry hair use nettle, burdock, rosemary or calendula
- for oily hair use yarrow, lavender, lemon balm or mint
- for blonde hair try calendula or chamomile
- for dark hair try sage or comfrey
- combat dandruff try rosemary, thyme or any of the herbs for dry hair
- use essential oils for scent and extra benefits (optional)
- use any combination of oils in your shampoo – 50 drops total
- For normal hair use lavender, clary sage or chamomile.
- For oily hair use lemon, tea tree or ylang-ylang.
- For dry hair try rosemary, myrrh or peppermint.
- For dandruff try tea tree, patchouli or lavender.
Note:
- never use essential oils directly on your scalp because they’re highly concentrated and very potent.
Creating the Shampoo
- ring the water to a boil
- measure out 2 cups (475 milliliters) of water
- pour the water into a pot then on a stove burner over high heat
- bring the water to boil.
- mix the ingredients together
- add the dried herbs – no quite 2 ounces (56 grams)
- when the water begins to boil add the herbs to the pot
- cover the pot
- reduce the warmth to low
- put a lid on the pot
- let the herbs steep within the simmering water for 15 to twenty minutes
- remove the pot from heat
- strain out the herbs
- burn off the burner
- remove the lid from the pot
